Donald Trump graced the Bitcoin conference in Nashville. However, one critic thinks the marginalized should also be given a platform.
When Satoshi Nakamoto first launched Bitcoin in 2009, he was doubtful. According to early emails, Nakamoto was not only protective of the tech but also wary that it might not gain traction.
The good news is that it did.
Fourteen years down the line, the network helps move trillions every year. Each BTC in circulation is also worth nearly $70,000, commanding a market cap of over $1.3 trillion.

As Bitcoin continues to dominate, presenting solutions in cross-border fund transfer and helping communities across the world preserve value, a vibrant community is developing around it.
In a bid to bring people close together, more and more conferences are being held across various cities.
Bitcoin Is Global: Event Organizers Urged To Diversify Speaker List
However, one user on X thinks these conferences are vibrant and informative, but there is a glaring issue.
Increasingly, more Bitcoin conferences appear tailored for “primarily straight, white men.”
The observer says this cohort’s seeming over-representation is misleading, especially considering how diverse and global the Bitcoin demographic is.
Therefore, to break the boundary and “truly” represent this blend of users representing the “faceless” Bitcoin community, conference organizers should try to diversify their speakers.
In her view, she looks forward to a day when not only politicians like Donald Trump are given priority. Event organizers should welcome “sex workers, activists, domestic abuse survivors, psychedelic-based healers, LGBTQ+ identifying Bitcoiners and Black Bitcoiners.”

Critics like Nouriel Roubini of the New York University should also be given a platform to present their views. Their position would help foster a comprehensive yet balanced dialogue where everyone is heard.
The user on X said their involvement would provide an invaluable opportunity for these “marginalized and overlooked groups” to share their experiences and insights. In turn, this would underscore the importance of Bitcoin being available for everyone and anyone who needs it.
Investigating Donald Trump’s Promises At Bitcoin Nashville
If anything, this need for diversity was evident in the recent Bitcoin conference in Nashville.
Addressing a packed crowd, the former president, Donald Trump, and Republican nominee compared the burgeoning crypto industry to the steel industry in the 20th century.
Considering its significance to the economy, Trump promised to make the United States a leader in crypto and Bitcoin if elected – warning that ‘crypto will die if the Democrats win!’.
The former president also announced that he would fire Gary Gensler, the chair of the United States SEC, and install someone else who wants to “build the future.”
Over the years, Gensler has been accused of deliberately going after crypto firms.
Many crypto supporters in the United States are convinced the Gensler-led commission is hellbent on “killing” the industry.
